Press Release Body: SINGAPORE, 23 September 2008 - Great Flights with the Best Race Views, Party Central and Easy Access by Land and Water. Experience the blistering Formula One™ action on ground and 165 metres in the skies only at Singapore Flyer, with prime capsule ground-to-air views with ‘live’ feed for trackside pass holders to catch the coolest race from $29.50 per person! Adding sizzle off the track are three party zones at the iconic Singapore Flyer, with a line-up of fire twirlers, Samba beauties, ‘live’ race screenings and performances by celebrities Kumar and John Molina, and more, from 4 pm to 12 am daily, from Sept 25 to 28. Singapore Flyer is opened from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm daily. It will be opened from 12 pm to 12 am on Sept 26, and 12 pm to 1 am on Sept 27 and 28.
Visitors with a Formula One™ trackside pass can access Singapore Flyer by land (shuttle services, taxi and private transport) and, for the first time, by water taxi from Clarke Quay. A. Great Flights with the Best Race Views from Sept 26 to 28
With a majority of the race track visible from the Flyer, high-speed aficionados will enjoy a unique moving ground-to-air view of all the motoring dramatics and can cheer on their favourite teams in the skies on-board the special Open Bar Flight, priced at $29.50 per person per flight.
Soar above the dynamic Singapore cityscape on board this scenic flight, available from 12 pm to 11.30 pm. Guests can opt from a selection of beverages – juices, soft drinks, beer and wines – from an open bar inside the designated capsule (Beverage prices start from $10.00).
Bringing the flight race experience to a greater high is a ‘live’ feed transmission of the Formula One™ primary and supporting races inside all 28 air-conditioned glass capsules at Singapore Flyer. There are three supporting races – Aston Martin Asia Cup, Formula BMW Race and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia – taking place from Sept 26, 2.30 pm onwards.
Guests looking for a bit of luxury can upgrade to the Singapore Flyer Champagne Flight (Individual), at $150 per person for one flight.
This flight includes free flow Moët & Chandon champagne, chocolates and strawberries in-capsule, as well as a pair of binoculars, one welcome drink and access to the Singapore Flyer Level 2 Viewing Gallery overlooking the Formula One™ race track.
The first 300 guests who purchase the Singapore Flyer Champagne Flight (Individual) – also from 12 pm to 11.30 pm – will be each gifted with a limited edition Formula One™ collectible medallion from Singapore Mint. This exquisite colour medallion features special effects, with the race car and Singapore skyline illuminated under ultra-violet light.
B. Party Central at Singapore Flyer from Sept 23 to 28, from 4 pm
It will be one big party at Singapore Flyer, with back-to-back exhilarating performances and activities divided into three party zones: Greek Theatre, Yakult Rainforest Discovery garden and the F1 Racing Singapore Bubble Lounge. A variety of food and drinks kiosks around the Flyer will be stationed to cater to trackside pass holders.
From Sept 23 and 24, from 4 pm to 10 pm, rev up for the coolest race to hit Singapore with a Super Cars Carnival, with hot car show babes and fast machines like Lamborghinis and Maserattis on display at the Flyer, which is located next to the Formula One™ pit building.
In addition to the Super Cars Carnival, from Sept 25 to 28, fire twirlers, Samba dancers, ‘live’ race screening and performances by local celebrities Kumar and John Molina at the Singapore Flyer premises will keep the adrenaline among spectators racing throughout the day and night.
A swanky Bubble Lounge party, presented by F1 Racing Singapore, will also take place on Level 2 from Sept 26 to 28, with guest deejays like Koflow and Aldrin. Guests can look forward to an unforgettable bash of premium champagne, celebrities and the hottest Formula One™ viewing experience in the air and balcony access overlooking the race track (http://clients.hex.sg/b-yond/f1_party.jpg). Tickets can include trackside passes.
Even before the actual Formula One™ race kicks off, drivers competing in the three Formula One™ supporting races will be burning up the track, starting from 2.30 pm on Sept 26.
C. Easy Access to the Flyer by Land and Water
With several roads closed in the lead-up to the Formula One™ race (from Sept 23 until Oct 1), getting to Singapore Flyer will take on a novel twist: By water. A free river taxi service will ply between Clarke Quay and Singapore Flyer’s floating pontoon from Sept 23 to Sept 25. It is available to guests of The Bubble Lounge, Singapore Flyer Premium Suites and Singapore Flyer investors from Sept 26 to 28. One 56-seater boat will ply the route at 30-minute intervals between 10 am to 5 pm and two 56-seater boats will be available at 15-minute intervals between 5 pm to 11 pm. Guests who wish to access the Singapore Flyer by land (shuttle services, taxi and private transport) should drop off at Gate 2 (near Millenia Tower, the closest Gate to the Flyer). Singapore Flyer is within the Formula One™ circuit park and from Sept 26 to 28, all visitors are required to have a trackside pass in order to get to the Flyer.
